I.R.I.S. provides a longevity
found in no other coating on the
market. True-Color fade resistance
holds its original color for well over
20 years. The color is so resilient
to fading that in theory the resin
the coatings are made with could
deteriorate first.
The benefit of True-Color is
well understood by all that live in
the desert southwest where it is
common place for homes to need
re-painting as often as every 2-3
years to retain the desired color.
The fading of color in paints is
due to the effects of UltraViolet
light on organic pigments. UV light
literally breaks the pigment molecule in two destroying the color properties. This is
observed as color fading. I.R.I.S. coatings use a proprietary colorant system that is
completely inert to the effects of UV light.
Think how much can be saved in money, materials and time if a re-paint was only
needed once every 10, 15 or even 20 years or more! It will save thousands of dollars,
which currently is money being burnt up by the sun.........literally!

Advantages of Hi-Sol Technology
Savings As Simple As 50% Free!
It is common for most architectural paints to have a solids content anywhere from 32% to
43% at the very best. I.R.I.S. coatings have a solids content of 63%. The benefits of
having a high solids content is evident with simple mathematics.
If a gallon of paint with 40% solids is used to cover 160 sq.ft, when dried it will leave a film
that is 4 mils thick.
If a gallon of I.R.I.S. coating with 63% solids is used to cover the same 160 sq.ft area,
when dried it will leave a film of 6.3 mils thick.
SAME COVERAGE AREA WITH A 55% THICKER COATING
OR
Another way to look at it is if you apply I.R.I.S. coatings so that when dried it leaves a film 4
mils thick, it will cover an area of 230 sq.ft.
SAME DRY COATING THICKNESS AND 55% MORE COVERAGE!!!
You WILL save money using 1/3rd less gallons to complete a project!

Conventional Paint After 5 Years

Original Color Reflectance Spectrum
|
This graph shows the reflectance of I.R.I.S.(green) and a conventional paint (tan) after 5 years of solar exposure, compared to the original colors reflectance(blue) of both prior to exposure. The conventional paint shows a much higher tendency to fade and become whiter.
|
The above diagram is a representation of the thickness of a paint compared to I.R.I.S. when first applied and when they have both dried. Applied at an equal thickness in a wet state, (i.e. 10 mils*) when allowed to dry and all the water has evaporated I.R.I.S. is found to have a dry film that is usually at least 50% thicker compared to almost all other architectural paints. * mils are 1/1000th of an inch

True-Color, it Lasts! The three color samples above show the original color (top) I.R.I.S. coating after 5 years of exposure to the sun (middle) and a conventional paint after 5 years of exposure to the sun (bottom). I.R.I.S. True-Color remains as vibrant and rich in color as the day it was applied and will remain that way for many more years!
