New "Green Standards" Exceeded
By I.R.I.S. Years Before Required.
All I.R.I.S. products available for commercial use were formulated by I.R.I.S.
Technologies founder many years before todays "Green Standards" were
implemented. The I.R.I.S. formulations have not changed even with new
standards governing the coatings industry because I.R.I.S. products not only meet
these standards, but usually exceed them.
I.R.I.S.'s creator saw no reason to expose himself or associates to any toxic or
hazardous materials within his own research lab, let alone have products on the
market that may cause health or ecological damage.
Though primarily formulated to have no effect on ones health, it has been found
that the materials used have almost no effect on the environment and are easily
classified as "Green Products". This is all before taking into account the energy
efficiency properties of our products.
Very Low V.O.C.'s
Our coating systems were designed to be environmentally friendly. I.R.I.S.
coatings are well below current federal requirements containing a maximum of
25g/liter which is 1/10th of the allowable level. This is low enough to be
considered a very low V.O.C. product.
Safe Ingredients
I.R.I.S. coatings are made with high quality materials. We DO NOT USE
formaldehyde, crystalline silicas, acetone, aromatic hydrocarbons or other toxic
compounds. I.R.I.S. contains no known carcinogens.
Reduces Environmental Impact
Use of these products will reduce your carbon footprint directly by reducing your
energy consumption.
Waste is eliminated by reducing the amount of future repaints necessary due to its
True-Color technology which gives you colors that never fade.
Hi-Sol (high solids) technology means you can purchase as much as a third fewer
pails of our coatings than you would need of any other conventional paint and
achieve the same coating thickness or purchase the same volume and have a
50% thicker coating providing greater protection to your property.
Current "GREEN" Certifications Applications
We are in the application process to have our coating systems "Green Seal"
certified and are pursuing the use of I.R.I.S. in Green Building LEED projects.
Due to the unique nature of our Infra-red reflective technology, new testing
standards have to be developed and approved by an independent accredited third
party because there are no other products in which to compare our products.
Unfortunately, this process will take some time, but we are intent on attaining a
rating in the HERS index as soon as possible. We are currently working with
RESNET to have a standard developed to quantify the energy efficiency a
structure is provided by using I.R.I.S.
Once a rating in the HERS index is achieved, power providers and contractors will
be able to acquire points for use of our products in "Green Building Projects"
nationwide.
We have no doubt that our products already meet and exceed current and future
standards. We look forward to third party certifications in the not too distant
future.
